the perfect date: we pack our things in a little bag and get in the car for a road trip. we have our playlist with our songs and a long ways to go. it takes about 4 hours but it’s the best 4 hours i get to spend with your hand in mine and singing at the top of our lungs. we make pit stops for food and candy. finally, we get to our hotel and drop our things off. in the back, we have the beach. we bring our heart-shaped picnic basket out, along with our picnic blanket and speakers for music. we enjoy a beautiful sunny day out on the beach and running around in the sand. i pick you up and twirl you around while we laugh and kiss and become little kids again. the sun starts to set and make the prettiest colors in the sky. we wrap up in our towels and eat our food; we’re talking about everything and anything. it is calm and i want to stay there forever. the moon comes out and your head is on my lap. i rub your head and your arm to warm you up. the sound of the waves, making us forget all our worries and struggles. the moon, calming us down and taking care of us. i really, really, want to stay here forever.
